Mechanical Department
Machine Tools Laboratory
Hands-on study of machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, shaping, slotting, and grinding using various machine tools.
Lab Overview
The Machine Tools Laboratory is a well-equipped facility that provides students with hands-on experience in conventional machining processes and machine tool operations. The laboratory includes a comprehensive range of equipment such as lathe machines, milling machines, drilling machines, shaping machines, slotting machines, grinding machines, radial drilling machines, and power cutting equipment.
The laboratory provides practical exposure to various machining operations, including turning, milling, drilling, shaping, slotting, and grinding. It enables students to understand machine tool operation, workpiece setting, tool handling, machining practices, and basic manufacturing principles through practical experimentation and workshop activities.
The laboratory helps students develop essential practical, technical, and problem-solving skills required for machining and manufacturing applications, while providing a strong foundation in machine tools and conventional manufacturing processes.
